The Chula Vista Elementary School District (CVESD) is proud to recognize Timothy Basquez, custodian at Joseph Casillas Elementary School, as the 2025-26 CVESD Classified Employee of the Year.
Mr. Basquez has been an employee of CVESD since 1998 and at Casillas Elementary School since 2009. As a custodian, he takes pride in keeping the school clean and maintained for students, staff, and families. He is also known for his positive attitude and willingness to help when needed. Mr. Basquez plays a huge role in the Casillas community, building relationships and connections with everyone who steps onto the school site.
As CVESD’s Classified Employee of the Year, Mr. Basquez will now go on to represent the district at the Classified Employee of the Year Program hosted by the San Diego County Office of Education. CVESD congratulates Mr. Basquez on this well-deserved recognition and thanks him for his dedication to the students, staff, and families of Casillas Elementary.
